By targeting the deeper layers of the skin, tissues of the face and body can be remodeled to reveal a more radiant youthful appearance. Radiofrequency (RF) energy is a scientifically proven method to remodel and rebuild collagen. It is minimally invasive, using a matrix of micro pins to renew the deeper layers of the skin with almost no patient downtime. Morpheus8 can be used on any area that can benefit from resurfacing and subdermal renewal. The most commonly treated areas include the face, periorbital area, abdomen, thighs, legs, and buttocks.

The Morpheus8 Procedure and Recovery

The Morpheus8 procedure usually lasts about 30-60 minutes, and is performed as an office procedure under topical anesthesia. Safety and your comfort are of the utmost importance performing your procedure. In addition to strong topical anesthesia, we offer ProNox to help ease patient’s pain and anxiety. Pronox provides a 50/50 mixture of Nitrous Oxide and Oxygen and is an effective analgesic that provides quick pain relief and recovery. The handheld device puts the patient in control of administering the analgesic when they feel like they need it.

During a Morpheus treatment, we will address the skin at several different depths to maximize results. The treating clinician places the applicator against the skin for a few seconds while energy is inserted through the needles. The applicator is then removed from the surface and placed onto the adjacent area. The motion is somewhat like a stamping technique rather than moving the applicator across the skin. Once the area has been uniformly treated, we will apply an antimicrobial silver solution followed by a laser balm which the patient will continue for 1-2 days after treatment.

Since patient downtime is minimal, makeup can be applied 1 to 2 days after the treatment. Patients should expect to see micro lesions a few days after treatment and slight redness depending on treatment parameters. Patients should also moisturize the treatment area and avoid direct sun exposure. It is also recommended that patients use a broad spectrum sunscreen every day. In addition to reducing the risk of skin cancer, sunscreens also slow the aging process. The most common side effects after an Morpheus8 procedure are some mild bruising and some swelling for 24-48 hours. Most patients find they need about a day of social downtime for all swelling and redness to subside. Homeopathic Arnica Montana can be used to to reduce any bruising or swelling that occurs.
